Let us pray:

Dear Father in Heaven, as this morning’s assembly comes to a close, we thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us for we know that everything we have, everything we are, and everything we may become is because of you and your love for us.

Father, we thank you for today’s lesson and the things it has taught us, and we pray that during the coming week, our thoughts, our actions and our deeds will reflect those things we learned today.  Father, we thank you for your presence in our daily lives which brings us peace and comfort in our minds and spirits and provides us with the ability to cope with life’s daily problems. Father, as we leave here today, we pray for those charged with the oversight of this congregation; the elders, deacons, and Brother Bell.  We pray that you grant them the continued strength, wisdom, and patience necessary to lead us and help us to do things that are consistent with your will.

We pray that during the coming week you will be with the young members of this congregation, as well as their parents, to help them through any difficult times they may face, and that you also be with the sick and elderly among us so that through our prayers and you presence they may receive the necessary support, treatment and care.

Father, let us be mindful of what the Bible teaches us in the story of the Good Samaritan so that we do not pass by these brothers and sisters but, instead, stop and take the necessary time to administer to their needs.

Once again, as we leave here today, we ask that you be with all of us.  Help us to deal with the pressures of our daily lives.  Help us to become better people and better Christians so we will conduct ourselves in a way that is pleasing and acceptable to you.  Help us to be tolerant and slow to judge others, to make good decisions and distinguish good from evil.

Father, we pray that your Holy word will always be the guide for our lives and that your expectations of us will be the yardstick by which we measure our success here on earth.  Father, we thank you for your love for us – a love that is so strong that you sent your only son to die on the cross so that we could be saved.  Finally, Father, we ask that you forgive us for our sins.  All these things we pray for in the name of your blessed and holy Son – Jesus Christ.
