Early One Morning...

Planning the Day

Shortly after breakfast (plates still on the table). The day's crowd (a few local folks missing), getting ready to hit the streets.  Around the table are the following: Carlos Gordillo (Tustin CA), Frederic Gray (Tampa FL), Kyle Monzon (SB), Royce Bell (SB), Ross Triplett (Sparks NV), Ethan Longhenry (Norwalk OH), Dick Tidwell (Cary NC), Mike Bullington (SB).

Curiously missing is Larry Smith (elder at MV, SB), who took time from his important service-based business to be on the street, every day...every day. This may have been taken the morning he had to take care of the customers, but by that afternoon, he was back on the streets with us. Elder Leon Hall was in Veterans Hospital (Loma Linda), following surgery.  This and other pics were made by John Garcia (elder at MV, SB). Mugging along the wall on the left is Dirk Driskill (elder at MV, SB). Standing on the right is Lee Bell (Royce's wife...the only woman to hit the streets with us and one of only three who assisted in teaching classes--shame on others, who could have been here, for not sharing the load!).

Planning for the day's activities, with Carlos Gordillo (back to the camera), Royce Bell (trying to look important), Kyle Monzon (doing the same), Ross Triplett (peaking through the valley), Dick Tidwell (wishing we would hush and hit the streets with him), and Ethan Longhenry (back to the camera, probably anxious that Royce was going to send him back to the County Records Building to be arrested for doing the Lord's work).

As the group prepared to leave, we shared our confidence that we would all be safe and took time to ask the blessing of God upon our efforts.

Heading Out

Two of the vehicles packed for the day's activities.  That's Kyle's mom's car on the left, packed, though you cannot see it.  The other car is packed with (look for them) tables (white), chair (folding), Bibles...bibles and more bibles (in the boxes), and other needed items, such as the banners, coats, bottles of water, etc.  On Friday, we had the car on the right, packed all the way to the headliner.  What a blast!!

At the County Courthouse...

Dick Tidwell (Cary NC) is leaning against the pedestal of the Eagle statue (probably talking to bleached-blonde political fanatic who was keeping watch on that area). Frederic, Lee and Kyle are at the table (note that the banner is not affixed on the table).  Look at the number of people who are milling around, just waiting for someone to speak to them about the Lord!

Frederic Gray (Tampa FL) talking to Darlene Groves (whom he also baptized), with Kyle Monzon and Lee Bell looking on.  This pic was taken before our banners arrived from the sign company, but that did not keep us from doing what we had to do.

Corner of Highland / Arrowhead...

Mike Bullington minding the table, which is stacked with English (near) and Spanish (far) Bibles, and other materials.  Carlos Gordillo "engages the word" with a Spanish-speaking passerby.  Folks were eager to meet us and accept our offer of a free Bible and teaching to go along with it.  Final figures are still being tallied, but we engaged over 250 people over the course of four days.

Same scene, different angle, but with a much better view of our banner.
